Der Les Terrasses 2007 ist der aktuelle Jahrgang des seit mittlerweile knapp 15 Jahren zuverlässigen Basisweins des kongenialen Alvaro Palacios, auch im sehr guten Jahrgang 2007 mehr denn je ein qualitativ hochwertiger, aber noch erschwinglicher Priorato.
Alvaro Palacios ist einer der Urväter des Priorats und hat zusammen mit Rene Barbier (Clos Mogador) und José Luis Perez (Clos Martinet und Cims de Porrera) die Region wieder urbar gemacht und in der Folge zu weltweitem Ruhm geführt.

($35) Saturated red. Highly energetic aromas of redcurrant, wild strawberry, rose and minerals, with a hint of blood orange. Sharply defined and linear, offering spicy red berry flavors and a strong undercurrent of smoky minerals. With its excellent clarity and mounting sweetness, this reminds me of pinot noir. A note of cracked pepper adds vibrancy to the long, gently sweet and penetrating finish. This is the most graceful version of this bottling I've tasted.

The 2007 Les Terrasses is the same blend as the Camins cuvee but entirely sourced from old vines. It spent 12 months in 20% new French oak. Aromas of mineral, Asian spices, espresso, black cherry, and black raspberry lead to a medium to full-bodied, concentrated, smooth-textured wine. Savory, moderately structured, and approachable, it may evolve for 1-2 years but can be enjoyed now and over the next 6-8 years.
