Der Les Terrasses 2008 ist der aktuelle Jahrgang des seit mittlerweile knapp 15 Jahren zuverlässigen Basisweins des kongenialen Alvaro Palacios, auch im sehr gelungenen Jahrgang 2008 mehr denn je ein qualitativ hochwertiger, aber noch erschwinglicher Priorato.
Alvaro Palacios ist einer der Urväter des Priorats und hat zusammen mit Rene Barbier (Clos Mogador) und José Luis Perez (Clos Martinet und Cims de Porrera) die Region wieder urbar gemacht und in der Folge zu weltweitem Ruhm geführt.

($40; 60% carinena, 30% garnacha, with the rest syrah and cabernet sauvignon) A sexy, highly perfumed bouquet displays scents of candied raspberry, cherry cola, licorice and potpourri, supported by a strong mineral undertone. Juicy, penetrating red and dark berry flavors stain the palate and repeat the licorice note. Dusty tannins add grip and focus to a long, mineral-dominated finish.

It offers greater complexity both aromatically and on the palate. Smoothly-textured, intense, plush, and spicy, it opens up nicely in the glass with floral (lavender), mineral, pepper, and black cherry notes reappearing in the robust finish.
