Daphne Glorian, mittlerweile die Frau des US-Weinimporteurs Eric Salomon, keltert seit 1992 Ihre legendäre Cuvee aus Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon und Syrah.
Der Wein hat sich vor allem in Übersee zu einem Kultobjekt entwickelt. Auf lediglich 10 ha Rebfläche werden jährlich etwa 2400 Flaschen dieses Weins in der D.O.Ca. Priorato produziert.
Der Wein ist trotz seiner Herkunft in Spanien kaum zu finden, weil 90 % der Produktion exportiert wird und teilweise zu gut dreistelligen Beträgen den Besitzer wechselt. (1992 betrug der US-Preis noch $ 29)

This excellent value is a noteworthy introduction to the style of Clos Erasmus. The 2002 Clos Erasmus is undeniably one of the finest Priorats of the vintage. A blend of 75% Grenache and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, aged in 100% new Radoux barrels, it boasts a dense ruby/purple color along with noble notes of crushed rock-like steeliness, elegance, precision, power, and intensity. There is a layered mouthfeel, remarkable concentration for a 2002, and fine length as well as overall balance. This beauty is best consumed during its first 10-15 years of life given the vintage.
