Clos Erasmus

Daphne Glorian keltert seit 1992 ihre legendäre Cuvée aus Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon und Syrah und zählt damit neben René Barbier (Clos Mogador), Carlos Pastrana (Clos del'Obac), José-Luis Perez und Álvaro Palacios zu den Pionieren im exklusiven, gebirgigen Anbaugebiet D.O.Ca. Priorato.

Clos Erasmus, der in zwei Jahren in Folge sogar die sagenhaften 100 (!) Parkerpunkte erhielt, ist ein rares Kultobjekt.

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar - Sept. 2012 - Clos Erasmus 2010 - Josh Raynolds - 96/100
Opaque ruby. An intensely perfumed bouquet displays scents of black raspberry, redcurrant, Asian spices and incense with slow-building floral and bineral qualities. Sweet, concentrated and polished, with silky texture and noteworthy intensity to its sappy red fruit and violet pastille flavors. Finishes sweet, spicy and extremely long, with relentless flavors of red berries, minerals and candied flowers. This wine's blend of power and finesse is something else. 96 Points

Wine Advocate #194 - May 2011 - Clos Erasmus 2008 - Jay Miller - 99/100 - Drink: 2016 - 2018
Always a benchmark against which all other Priorats must be measured, the 2008 Clos Erasmus is a great success. It consists of 80% Garnacha, 15% Syrah, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 22 months in new French oak. A glass-coating opaque purple color with an already complex bouquet of mineral, pain grille, Asian spices, tar, tapenade, and black cherry, on the palate it is dens, rich, and full-bodied with an elegance belying ist size. Layered and opulent, it conceals enough structure to evolve for 6-8 years. It will deliver a drinking window extending from 2016 to 2028, perhaps longer.
