The Wine Advocate - 24th Jul 2025 - Luis Gutierrez - 2024 Fulcro A Pedreira - 94/100 - $28 - 2026 - 2032
The young 2024 A Pedreira is serious and austere, subtle, still a tad reductive but following the house style of whites that are clean, elegant and very tasty and with a subtle salty twist in the finish. It was produced with grapes from very white sandy soils in Meaño, Padrenda and Sanxenxo and fermented in oak (barrels and foudres) and 30% in stainless steel, where it matured for four to six months. I think this will be even better with a couple of years in bottle. The work with oak is unnoticeable in the flavors or aromas, but it gives the wine nuance and complexity. It comes in at 13% alcohol, with a pH of 3.32 and 8.1 grams of acidity. 65,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2025.
James Suckling - Bodegas Fulcro - Albariño Rías Baixas A Pedreira 2024 - 94/100
A fragrant, pleasant albarino with oyster shells, green pears and a steely note on the nose. The palate is dynamic and energetic, with intense salinity that really defines this wine. This comes from a single parcel called Finca Xesteira planted on clay schist soils. The wine ages for around 11 months in used barrels. Drink now.
Tim Atkin - 27 Nov 2025 - Bodegas Fulcro - Albariño Rías Baixas A Pedreira 2024 - 94/100
A Pedreira is Chicho Moldes' biggest volume Albariño, but we're still only talking 60,000, not a million bottles. Made with grapes from around 20 parcels in Cambados, Meaño and Sanxenxo, it has 10% new wood, some older foudres and barrels and 30% stainless steel. Aniseed and fennel aromas are a scented introduction to flavours of citrus and beeswax complemented by a creamy mid palate. 2025-29
