Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Sep 12, Josh Raynolds - El Nido Clio 2009 - 93/100
(70% monastrell and 30% cabernet sauvignon, aged for just over two years in a combination of French and American oak; 15.5% alcohol):  Opaque purple.  Explosive aromas of candied dark berries, cherry-vanilla, incense and woodsmoke, with an exotic floral topnote.  Lush and creamy, offering sweet, oak-spiced blackberry and cassis flavors that are given spine by gentle acidity.  Dusty tannins make a late appearance and add shape to the long, sappy, alluringly perfumed finish.
