VINTAGE
Winery qualification: Excellent
Climatic year: Adequate but irregularly distributed rains during 2001 resulted in an optimal vegetative development. Abundance of rains between November and March, mild temperatures in winter and high temperatures during a quite dry spring produced acceleration in the germination and flowering. Warm summer with enough rains due to some mild storms in July. Drought in August and September slowed down the maturation and compensated the previous acceleration. The harvest took place during October as usual gathering bunches with excellent healthy and ripeness levels.

Cork: 54 mm long by 24.5 mm diameter, average density 180 grams. Washed and sterilized. 100% Natural, maximum quality.
Label: Recyclable paper printed with ecological ink (without heavy metals).

It is recommended to open the bottle and decant the wine 30 minutes before serving depending on the temperature of service. Consume: between 2004 and 2030.

Wine Advocate #159 - (Jun 2005) - Robert Parker - 96 points - Drink 2005-2010 - $138.00
The profound 2001 Amancio is easily of first-growth Bordeaux quality. Made from 100% Tempranillo, it is a full-throttle, inky/blue/purple-colored effort boasting an extraordinary perfume of blueberries, blackberries, creosote, graphite, and truffles. Dense, full-bodied, voluptuously-textured, structured, nuanced, and fabulously concentrated and long (the finish lasts nearly 45 seconds), it possesses great purity, balance, and overall harmony. There are 200 cases exported to America. Anticipated maturity: now-2020.
