Ester Nin ist Weinmacherin bei der berühmten Priorat Kellerei Clos Erasmus. Mit dem Jahrgang 2004 begann Ester Nin zusammen mit Ihrem Mann Carlos Ortiz Ihre eigenes kleines Projekt mit den Weinen Nit de Nin und Planetes de Nin. Von biodynamisch bewirtschafteten Weinbergen entstehen aus Garnacha und Cariñena großartige, völlig eigenständige Weine in kleinen Stückzahlen.
4 ha Die Garnacha - und Cariñena Anpflanzungen der Finca Planetes sind zwischen 80 und 100 Jahre alt. Die Ernte wurde zwischen dem 25. August und dem 4. September 2013 eingebracht. Die Trauben durchlaufen bei der Weinbereitung eine 4-wöchige Mazeration, der Most wird dann bei kontrollierter Temperatur fermentiert. Danach kommt er in gebrauchte 30 hL Fuder aus französischer Eiche, wo der Wein 18 Monate reift. Abfüllung im Mätz 2015.
Der Planetes de Nin 2013 präsentiert sich mit Aromen roter Früchte sowie Gewürznoten in der Nase. Am Gaumen fleischig, aber dennoch leichtfüßig, frisch mit floralen Noten, sehr präzise mit reifen Tanninen sowie excellenter Balance und Länge.

The 2013 Planetes de Nin is mostly Garnacha with some 35% Cariñena from a vineyard in Porrera that names the wine. The Cariñena was harvested at the end of August, and the Garnacha after the 20th of September. The wine matured in 2,850-liter oak foudres and 3,200-liter amphorae for some 16 months. I first tasted it one month after bottling and it was very closed because of the operation. I had the feeling that it was a superb vintage and wanted to give the wines a chance, so I waited until now to give it time to rest and breathe. Well, that reductive character has disappeared. Furthermore, they think they have found the cause for that reductive character in the wine--there was a deficiency in the soil of the Garnacha that they have fixed with a natural compost and the results are good. Anyway, back to the wine, this 2103 is superb indeed. The wine has also gained in depth and feels more Porrera, more austere. In this vintage they started with some full clusters (which in 2014 was increased to 100%) and the result shows in a "sensation" of freshness rather than in analytical data. The palate shows incredibly fine and elegant, refined with sleek tannins. There are 8,445 bottles produced.

(aged in used foudres for 18 months): Vivid ruby-red. Bright and highly expressive on the nose, displaying spice- and mineral-accented red and blue fruit aromas and a hint of star anise. Silky, sappy and energetic in the mouth, offering sweet black raspberry and floral pastille flavors that deepen in the mid-palate while maintaing vivacity. Echoing floral notes and gentle, slow-building tannins give shape to the smooth, clinging finish.
